george?

Early this afternoon, I began having left side ovarian pain, and by this evening, I was having some low-level uterine pain. Right now I’m fine, though.

Because george was a week late last month, he shouldn’t arrive until the 17th of this month.

Unless of course last month’s lateness was due to stress and the cycle auto-corrects itself this month, arriving on the normal time it would have, had I not been late last month.
If it does that, then george will be here next Tuesday the 11th. Which would explain the ovulation pains I’m having now.

Which means, if he does arrive on the 11th, I’ll only have had two and a half weeks free of george before he’s arrived again.

Just noting this in case a pattern emerges. The last time I had a major cycle change was in my mid-twenties, when I went from a seven-day period to a five-day period, and the changes were months in the making before I figured it out.

More on the racing heart

Today my heart is steady around 80bpm and I feel rested and relaxed. I’ll keep tracking my pulse as it ties into the whole hypothyroidism / hypopituitarism issue I’m exploring lately.

My friend nateM has told me about this for years but every thyroid blood test I have comes back normal. I’m reading that if the thyroid is normal, perhaps the pituitary is what’s bad.

Got a gym membership

Forgot to tell you that last week I got a gym membership to join my friend on her morning workouts. I’ve been getting up at 6am, ugh.

I started last Thursday, and joined my friend on the elliptical machine. I could only handle about 12 minutes of that, and then I got on the recumbent bike for about 15 minutes. Later that day, I bicycled (about a mile or so) to lunch and back with a friend. I could feel the burn but it wasn’t anything major. I had a good workout that day overall.

The next day, on Friday, we went to the gym again and I spent 12 minutes on the elliptical and 5 minutes on the stationary bike before firing it. I hate gym bikes, they’re not fitted to me and just wreck my neck, back and knees. Even when adjusting the seat, it doesn’t help. I’ll stick to my own fitted bike on the stationary trainer, thanks.

I then spent 20 minutes on the treadmill at a brisk walk, breaking into a run for three minutes straight, then resuming walking, then running for one minute, then walking slowly for five minutes for cooldown. I forgot to bring a towel and was drip-sweating that day. I started noting how many calories I was burning - in all I burned about 230 calories in under 40 minutes. I know nothing about calorie burning so perhaps that’s low, perhaps that’s good, I dunno, but I’m recording it here.

The Friday workout is what killed me for three solid days. OW.

Today I resumed going to the gym and we went swimming! I mainly tread water and did scissor kicks, cuz when I tried to do a lap arm over arm, my shoulder/neck started to go out. So even swimming screws with my bulging disks in my neck (C4-C6).

But we did get to go into the sauna after our swim. Mmmmm, that was niiiice.

I also looked at the weights, even though my doctor has forbid me to continue lifting due to above-mentioned neck issue. I want to at least give it a try again. I’ll be very slow and methodical.

When I got home from the gym, I had to nap. Just like last week. Still not used to the workout. I remember doing this when I first started actively bicycling again, too.

Tomorrow I may just do puny five pound weights for about half hour. There’s also this cool arm workout thingy, like pedaling, only using your arms. I wanna try that.

Oh, also, weigh-in and goal. As of Friday, I weighed 167lbs (75kg) on my 5′5″ frame. I wish to be 130lbs (58kg).
I was 125lbs (56kg) in high school. By the year 2000, I weighed 140lbs (63kg) but shot up to 183 (83kg) at my heaviest in 2006.
I believe that my goal is reasonable.

racing heart dumbass

Today while working I ate a handful of chocolate covered espresso beans. Not wanting to eat more, I savored the last one, and kept the bean in my mouth for awhile.

Well, within 90 minutes, I had a racing pulse; 91bpm. I was about to have a panic attack. Yawning or taking controlled breaths did not help, it only made it worse. So my man took me out on errands he had to run, and then we went for an hour walk. My pulse got down to 80. When we got in the door again, my heart rate kicked back up. It’s now at 87bpm.

GAH.

NICE GOING, DUMBASS.

Remember your rule? Caffeine will KILL you?

argh.

Ok, now I’m down to 73bpm.

…and back up to 77bpm within five minutes.

I know it’s likely the caffeine that made my heart race, but I’m still gonna go spend time on endocrineweb.com now, and tomorrow I will call the allergy and immunology doctor back again and ask more questions. I hit every symptom in the book except for the hair loss.
